After circling the position for what felt like forever, the Patriots committed. Michael Penix Jr. is the quarterback now, and the roster gets built to his timeline. A near-flawless weekend of work, and a A to cap it.

That Speights pick is the receipt they will wave around later. The phones were where this weekend was really won. The safety spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.

Edge rusher was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
