Draft Grade — Patriots
Overall

FutureB+
The Patriots drew a line under the quarterback search with Maye: D. Every swap seemed to tilt away from the Patriots, and the value they bled adds up to real damage.
Drake Maye gives the offense a face and a plan, and the grade leans heavily on whether he hits. Leaving edge rusher unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. On value alone, Williams makes the weekend a net positive.
Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and edge rusher is still a hole.
Pick Analysis
Pick6
Rnd1
Drake Maye
In the Round 1 slot they get a franchise quarterback. A real need, handled.
Pick25
Rnd1
Keon Coleman
In slot 25 they get a go-to option on the outside at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick45
Rnd2
Tyler Guyton
They did well to land Tyler Guyton in Round 2, Pick 13, just ahead of his grade. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick68
Rnd3
Ja'Tavion Sanders
A slide stopped in the 68th overall pick, with Ja'Tavion Sanders worth more than the price. It fills a real need, too.
Pick103
Rnd4
McKinnley Jackson
Nice patience on McKinnley Jackson, who had no business lasting to the 103rd pick. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick139
Rnd5
Kamal Hadden
They took Kamal Hadden at par in pick No. 139, which is nothing to complain about. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick199
Rnd6
Curtis Jacobs
Curtis Jacobs in pick 199 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick219
Rnd6
Kimani Vidal
The board fumbled Kimani Vidal all the way to No. 219, and they scooped it up. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick224
Rnd7
Jordan Magee
Jordan Magee at the Round 7 slot is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
Pick232
Rnd7
Isaiah Williams
Steal is underselling it; Isaiah Williams at Round 7, Pick 12 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
