Draft Grade — Raiders
Overall B-
ValueB- NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
The Raiders left with their quarterback, and a B- to match.

After circling the position for what felt like forever, the Raiders committed. Fernando Mendoza is the quarterback now, and the roster gets built to his timeline. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B-.

Reaching for Fa'amoe left real value on the table behind him. A whole weekend of picks and edge rusher is somehow still a want. They banked enough surplus on Lane to cover a lot of smaller sins.

Almost all the early capital went to that side of the ball.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.

Pick Analysis
Pick1 Rnd1 Fernando Mendoza
In Round 1, Pick 1 they get the face of the franchise. A real need, handled.
Pick36 Rnd2 Max Iheanachor
Max Iheanachor at No. 36 is a conviction pick that outran the value. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick67 Rnd3 Dontay Corleone
A straight-up fair deal on Dontay Corleone at the 67th pick, value and slot in agreement. The roster fit checks out.
Pick102 Rnd4 Ja'Kobi Lane
A tidy bit of business in pick 102, where Ja'Kobi Lane graded well above the range. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick117 Rnd4 Jalon Kilgore
Jalon Kilgore in slot 117 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick134 Rnd4 Davison Igbinosun
Davison Igbinosun slid further than he should have, and the Round 4 slot is lovely value for the cornerback. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick175 Rnd5 Ted Hurst
Ted Hurst at pick No. 175 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick182 Rnd6 Xavier Nwankpa
A market-rate safety, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Xavier Nwankpa. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick185 Rnd6 Le'Veon Moss
This one needs a full-page explanation: Le'Veon Moss in the 185th overall pick, miles early. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick219 Rnd7 Fa'alili Fa'amoe
Fa'alili Fa'amoe in pick 219 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
