You can fall in love with a player. You are not supposed to marry him in the wrong round. The Commanders did exactly that with Brevyn Spann-Ford in the 222nd overall pick.

The Powers-Johnson pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up. A small leak at the table, if not a fatal one.

The roster is better shaped than it was, with wide receiver chief among the fixes.

Good work on the whole, with edge rusher the one box left unchecked.
