Draft Grade — Bears

FutureB-
The Bears won the weekend at the trade table. Grade: B+. The trade table was a mismatch, and the Bears were on the right end of it, hauling in a fortune in surplus value.
The edge rusher hole is the one line item this class does not answer. That Rodriguez pick is the receipt they will wave around later.
They will need Miller to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it.
Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
Pick Analysis
Pick27
Rnd1
Christen Miller
In No. 27 they get an anchor for the defensive front, reach and all. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick57
Rnd2
Lee Hunter
Lee Hunter in Round 2, Pick 25 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick60
Rnd2
A.J. Haulcy
Nice patience on A.J. Haulcy, who had no business lasting to the Round 2 slot. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick89
Rnd3
Jacob Rodriguez
A tidy bit of business in pick No. 89, where Jacob Rodriguez graded well above the range. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick129
Rnd4
Bryce Lance
Bryce Lance at slot 129 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick239
Rnd7
Charles Demmings
By-the-book stuff, Charles Demmings at the 239th overall pick squarely in line with his ranking. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick241
Rnd7
Trey Zuhn III
Trey Zuhn III at the 241st pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
