Draft Grade — Rams
Overall B
ValueB NeedB- TradesB FutureB-
Allen should have been long gone. The Rams pounced, and earned a B.

Everything else got attention, and running back got none. That is a strange way for the Rams to leave a draft. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B.

Landing Allen that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. The dealing nudged the ledger their way without much fuss.

They left with wide receiver solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off. The weekend tilted hard toward the defense.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but running back.

Pick Analysis
Pick18 Rnd1 Jermod McCoy
In pick 18 they get a sticky cover corner. Need was not the driver here.
Pick49 Rnd2 CJ Allen
A linebacker of that caliber at the 49th pick is the definition of value, full stop. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick61 Rnd2 Jake Slaughter
A reasonable price with a little left over, Jake Slaughter in Round 2, Pick 29. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick93 Rnd3 Zakee Wheatley
They read the board right and Zakee Wheatley was the payoff at slot 93. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick207 Rnd6 Sawyer Robertson
No edge and no loss on Sawyer Robertson in pick No. 207; it is a wash and a sensible one. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick232 Rnd7 Zavion Thomas
Zavion Thomas in No. 232 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick251 Rnd7 Alan Herron
Alan Herron at slot 251 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick252 Rnd7 Isaiah Jatta
Isaiah Jatta at Round 7, Pick 36 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
