The Browns did the meat-and-potatoes work well: B.

There is reaching, and then there is Will Kacmarek at pick 248. The Browns jumped the board by 68 and dared it to prove them wrong.

However the rest shakes out, Gulbin at that price is a win they earned. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up. With edge rusher, interior defensive lineman and other spots unsolved, spending premium capital on linebacker is the choice that costs them.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
