Draft Grade — Patriots

FutureA
Daniels is the Patriots' new face under center. Grade: B. Start where it matters. The Patriots took Jayden Daniels to run the offense for the next decade, and every other decision this weekend bends around that one.
The Fisher pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. The edge rusher spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.
However the rest shakes out, Newton at that price is a win they earned. The future picks help the war chest more than the win-now roster.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick Analysis
Pick4
Rnd1
Jayden Daniels
In slot 4 they get a franchise quarterback. A real need, handled.
Pick35
Rnd2
Keon Coleman
Keon Coleman at the Round 2 slot is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick66
Rnd3
Blake Fisher
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Blake Fisher. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick68
Rnd3
Josh Newton
They read the board right and Josh Newton was the payoff at pick No. 68. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
