When the story of this class is written, it opens with Kendall Milton at No. 224, a reach of 132 spots that the board flatly disagrees with. They moved the roster forward and banked a B+ for it.

The Patriots indulged a want in Melton while a need in interior defensive lineman stayed open. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped interior defensive lineman, which is a strange place to end up. The Tremaine Edmunds deal gives the class an established piece to lean on.

Edge rusher is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the interior defensive lineman spot they never got to.
