They finally answered the question that shadows every other one. Jayden Daniels is the Patriots' quarterback, full stop. A mixed bag that lands at C.

The trades bled value they could not afford to lose. Leaving edge rusher unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. Every board in the league had Johnson lower, and that gap is the story.

The roster is better shaped than it was, with wide receiver chief among the fixes.
