The trade table was where it all came apart. The Eagles shipped out far more than they hauled back, and no amount of spin dresses up the bill.
That cornerback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. Wilson has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. However the rest shakes out, Judkins at that price is a win they earned.
The bill for those future picks comes due whether the class hits or not.
There is no soft landing here: they fought the board and left cornerback open, and the grade is the bill.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 14th pick they get a mismatch in the passing game. A clean fit for the roster.
In No. 31 they get a two-high chess piece at fair value. A real need, handled.
They barely believed it either: Quinshon Judkins still on the board at slot 90. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Barrett Carter at the 91st overall pick is the proof. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
They did well to land Malachi Moore in Round 3, Pick 35, just ahead of his grade. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
They went early on Jared Wilson in pick No. 100, and the value did not follow. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
