There was a run on nobody at that position, and the Eagles started one anyway for Jordan Hancock, 36 picks ahead of schedule. Good, not great, and the B- says as much.
The edge rusher spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. The Walker pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged. Cornerback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 32nd pick they get a downhill thumper at linebacker at a price that makes it sweeter. Need was not the driver here.
A conviction pick on Jayden Higgins at the 64th overall pick that the board grades a round light. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
A straight-up fair deal on Charles Grant at Round 3, Pick 32, value and slot in agreement. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Dillon Gabriel at the Round 4 slot is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
They talked themselves into Cobee Bryant at No. 162, and the board did not agree. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Andres Borregales in pick No. 166 lands just on the right side of the ledger. They doubled down on a strength rather than a need.
They reached into another round for Jordan Hancock, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
