Jon-Luke B DRAFTING FOR THEPatriots
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Patriots
Overall

FutureB-
A solid, sensible weekend for the Patriots: B-. Call it a hunch or call it a gamble, but the Patriots spent No. 202 on Fa'alili Fa'amoe, a name most had 45 spots down the list. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B-.
A whole weekend of picks and quarterback is somehow still a want. Klare at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. They left with edge rusher solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick Analysis
Pick31
Rnd1
Zion Young
In Round 1, Pick 31 they get a double-digit-sack hope, reach and all. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick63
Rnd2
Elijah Sarratt
A reach for Elijah Sarratt in the 63rd pick; a little patience would have been rewarded. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick95
Rnd3
Max Klare
Max Klare at pick No. 95 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick125
Rnd4
Jakobe Thomas
A reach on Jakobe Thomas in No. 125; the board had better options right there. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick131
Rnd4
DeMonte Capehart
They paid sticker price for DeMonte Capehart in slot 131, and that is fine. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick171
Rnd5
Ar'maj Reed-Adams
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Ar'maj Reed-Adams in the 171st overall pick. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick191
Rnd6
Oscar Delp
A straight-up fair deal on Oscar Delp at the 191st pick, value and slot in agreement. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick198
Rnd6
Le'Veon Moss
No edge and no loss on Le'Veon Moss in slot 198; it is a wash and a sensible one. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick202
Rnd6
Fa'alili Fa'amoe
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Fa'alili Fa'amoe. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick212
Rnd6
Keyshaun Elliott
No drama and no debate, Keyshaun Elliott went about where he belonged in the Round 6 slot. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick247
Rnd7
Andre Fuller
The board had Andre Fuller higher than No. 247, and the cornerback fell to them anyway. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
