After circling the position for what felt like forever, the Cowboys committed. Quinn Ewers is the quarterback now, and the roster gets built to his timeline.

They banked enough surplus on Smith to cover a lot of smaller sins. The cost of the Bennett Jr. reach is exactly the players who went right after him. The cornerback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.

Wide receiver was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
