Draft Grade — Patriots

FutureB-
Nix is the Patriots' new face under center. Grade: B. Start where it matters. The Patriots took Bo Nix to run the offense for the next decade, and every other decision this weekend bends around that one. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B.
They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own. Leaving edge rusher unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.
They are betting Hadden proves the room right and everyone else wrong. The Patriots clearly valued win-now help, adding bodies who have done it before.
Good work on the whole, with edge rusher the one box left unchecked.
Pick Analysis
Pick11
Rnd1
Bo Nix
In the 11th overall pick they get a long-term answer under center, though they paid up to get him. A real need, handled.
Pick35
Rnd2
Troy Franklin
No edge and no loss on Troy Franklin in pick No. 35; it is a wash and a sensible one. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick43
Rnd2
Brian Thomas Jr.
A reach on Brian Thomas Jr. in slot 43; the board had better options right there. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick224
Rnd7
Kamal Hadden
The board had cheaper options than Kamal Hadden at pick 224, and it noticed. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
