A sensible, unshowy class lands the 49ers a B.

You can fall in love with a player. You are not supposed to marry him in the wrong round. The 49ers did exactly that with Jalen Thompson in No. 225. It does the job without flash, and the B reflects it.

Getting Neal where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through running back.

Blake Fisher gives the group a proven body among the projects. Stockpiling next year's capital is patient, if unglamorous, asset work.

A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
