The search is over. The Patriots handed the keys to Jayden Daniels, and the whole operation now runs on his development. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B-.

Landing Allen that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up. It is not that Stover is a bad player; it is that the Patriots had louder needs to answer first.

Wide receiver is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
