A sensible, unshowy class lands the 49ers a B.

You can fall in love with a player. You are not supposed to marry him in the wrong round. The 49ers did exactly that with Isaiah Jatta in Round 5, Pick 30. It does the job without flash, and the B reflects it.

However the rest shakes out, Lew at that price is a win they earned. For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.

Sonny Styles at the 58th pick is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. A need, and now a little less of one.

Connor Lew in slot 92 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.

They read the board right and Omar Cooper Jr. was the payoff at No. 94. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.

Keylan Rutledge in the Round 4 slot is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
