bigmac123 DRAFTING FOR THEPatriots
Draft Grade — Patriots
Overall

FutureB-
The Patriots finally solved quarterback, and it carried them to a B-. The Patriots spent the pick that matters most on Drake Maye, and a roster that has been waiting on a passer can start to take shape. They moved the roster forward and banked a B- for it.
Leaving edge rusher unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. They banked enough surplus on McMillan to cover a lot of smaller sins.
All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
Pick Analysis
Pick3
Rnd1
Drake Maye
In pick No. 3 they get their quarterback of the future. A real need, handled.
Pick34
Rnd2
Troy Fautanu
Troy Fautanu in the Round 2 slot is fair value, right on his grade. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick68
Rnd3
Jeremiah Trotter Jr.
Jeremiah Trotter Jr. in the 68th pick is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick103
Rnd4
Jalen McMillan
They let Jalen McMillan come to them and pounced at the 103rd overall pick. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
