Nobody had Jimmy Horn Jr. this high, and it is not close. The Vikings reached 65 spots to get him at pick No. 233. The sum of the weekend is a deserved A-.
The Smith pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch. Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck. For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain.
It is a haul that will look even better come September.
Pick-by-Pick
Taking Nick Emmanwori in slot 41 is close to grand larceny; a safety that good had no business lasting this long. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Kaleb Johnson in No. 72 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. It fills a real need, too.
