The Raiders bet big and early on Garrett Dellinger, 71 picks ahead of the board. Bold does not always mean right.

They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own. Lambert-Smith at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. Leaving edge rusher unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
