Twice a first-team all-state selection in Alabama, Joiner was the state's top-rated center at Auburn High School and signed with the hometown Tigers in the 2023 class. He redshirted in 2023 while appearing in two games.In 2024 Joiner played 10 games for Auburn with starts at left guard, earning a spot on the SEC All-Freshman Team as a redshirt freshman while also logging snaps at center and right guard. He entered the portal after that season and moved to Purdue for his third college year.
Joiner started all 12 games at center for the Boilermakers in 2025, handling 791 blocking snaps, 475 of them in pass protection, and surrendering one sack on the year. He kept clean pass-protection sheets against Ball State, Southern Illinois and Rutgers and played a season-high 88 snaps at Minnesota. In December he entered the portal again and signed with Florida State, his third program in four college seasons.
