Draft Profile: Bio
Eddrick Houston was a five-star defensive end at Buford High School in Georgia, ranked No. 25 nationally by 247Sports. He posted 10 sacks in his junior year and added five sacks and 12 stops behind the line during his final prep season, and he enrolled early at Ohio State in January 2024.

Houston moved from defensive end to tackle as a freshman, starting once in 12 games in 2024. He hurt his knee on the first day of fall camp in 2025, then opened the season as a starter before Tywone Malone took over the job. He finished that season with 21 tackles, three sacks and four tackles for loss, and he made the All-Big Ten honorable mention team.

Houston has played in every game at defensive tackle this season. He made four tackles and four stops against Maryland, two hits at Indiana and three stops at Iowa, but he does not have a sack. Defensive line coach Larry Johnson said he has a chance to play a lot of football.
Scouting Report: Strengths
  • No missed tackles in 296 snaps this season
  • Made four tackles and four stops against Maryland
  • Two quarterback hits in the road game at Indiana
  • Former five-star recruit with a big, powerful lower body
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
  • Without a sack this season after three in 2025
  • Below-average burst for a lineman asked to rush the passer
  • Was replaced in the starting lineup early in 2025
  • Hurt his knee on the first day of 2025 fall camp
  • Did not record a tackle against Kent State in September
Scouting Report: Summary
Houston is a big, powerful defensive tackle who has been a steady part of Ohio State's rotation. He finishes his tackles, without a miss this season, and he anchors against the run, as his four stops against Maryland showed.

However, he has not had a sack this season, and his speed is below average for a pass rusher. He also lost his starting job in 2025 and has not lived up to his five-star billing.

Overall, Houston is a strong run defender who has yet to show much as a rusher. He projects as a priority free agent, but a return to Ohio State looks more likely.

*Percentile Ranking in Player's Position Group (NFL Combine Historical Data): This percentile reflects how a player's specific statistics rank in comparison to historical performances at the NFL Combine, specifically within their position group. A higher percentile indicates a better performance. For instance, being in the 90th percentile for a particular stat means the player outperformed 90% of their peers in that category.

*Similarity Percentage: This percentage is calculated based on a comprehensive analysis of various factors, including height, weight, 40-yard dash times, on-field performance statistics, and overall player rating. The analysis is conducted against our database of draft prospects from 2021 to 2023. This similarity score helps in evaluating how closely a current prospect aligns with past prospects. It is important to note, however, that this score reflects similarities based on college production and attributes, and does not account for eventual success or performance in the NFL.
