Scouting Report: Strengths
  • An elusive and creative runner in space, Bell has the lateral agility and stop-start ability to make tacklers swing and miss. Bell shows good hands and coordination as an underneath catch-and-run target.
  • He runs precise routes, showing an innate feel for setting up defensive backs to create separation.
  • Shows good sense as a route runner and provides an enormous catch radius over the middle of the field. He has soft hands and uses his frame effectively to shield defenders, making him a major threat in the red zone.
  • Looks to get involved downfield and will block multiple defenders on a single play when he can. Understands his role as a blocker.
  • Comes off the snap quick, low and hard. Runs low and accelerates quickly.
  • Bell transitions quickly from receiver to runner, and he has enough speed to threaten the seam.
  • He’s broad-shouldered, long-limbed and a smooth athlete who showed the ability to make plays downfield.
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
  • He’ll have to develop a better feel for sitting down against zone coverage.
  • Bell also had problems with drops when coming back to the action. Bell has some issues against press coverage, sometimes spending too much time hand fighting at the line of scrimmage.
  • Essentially a muscled-up receiver in the passing game.
