Draft Profile: Bio
Phillip Daniels was a Division I first-team all-state left tackle at Princeton High School in Cincinnati and a three-star recruit. Pitt had his first commitment before he flipped to Minnesota.Daniels redshirted in 2023 and played in 12 games for the Gophers in 2024, making his first start at Illinois and starting the final four games. Ohio State landed him as a transfer that December, and he and became the starting right tackle in 2025, earning third-team All-Big Ten honors.
Daniels was pushed for his job in the spring, then was hurt against Texas in September, missing the Kent State game and the trip to Iowa. He has played in four games this season, including 71 snaps at Indiana, and Ryan Day expected the full line back after the late-October bye. Indiana got the lone sack against him this season.
Scouting Report: Strengths
- Experienced right tackle who started for a top program in 2025
- Earned third-team All-Big Ten honors as a starter in 2025
- Sound hand placement and footwork in pass protection
- Handled 71 snaps at Indiana in his return from injury
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
- An injury cost him multiple games in September and October
- Allowed a sack in the game at Indiana
- Penalties were an issue in 2025, with six flags
- Average athlete for the position, which limits him against speed
- Redshirt junior who has eligibility left for 2027
Scouting Report: Summary
Daniels is a steady, experienced right tackle who has started for one of the country's best teams. His technique in pass protection is sound, and he earned all-conference recognition in 2025.However, an injury has cost him much of the 2026 season, and his athleticism is only average for a tackle. Penalties were a problem in 2025, and he gave up a sack at Indiana.
Overall, Daniels is a dependable right tackle when healthy. He projects as a priority free agent backup, and his eligibility gives him the option to return.

*Percentile Ranking in Player's Position Group (NFL Combine Historical Data): This percentile reflects how a player's specific statistics rank
in comparison to historical performances at the NFL Combine, specifically within their position group. A higher percentile indicates a better performance.
For instance, being in the 90th percentile for a particular stat means the player outperformed 90% of their peers in that category.
*Similarity Percentage: This percentage is calculated based on a comprehensive analysis of various factors, including height, weight, 40-yard dash times, on-field performance statistics, and overall player rating. The analysis is conducted against our database of draft prospects from 2021 to 2023. This similarity score helps in evaluating how closely a current prospect aligns with past prospects. It is important to note, however, that this score reflects similarities based on college production and attributes, and does not account for eventual success or performance in the NFL.
