Good, not great, for the Texans: B.

The Zion Logue selection is the head-turner. The Texans reached 48 spots for him, and it will define how this weekend is remembered.

Benson at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.

Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.

Pick Analysis
Pick42 Rnd2 Rome Odunze
Somehow Rome Odunze was still sitting there in slot 42, and they pounced on premier wide receiver value. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick59 Rnd2 Edgerrin Cooper
Edgerrin Cooper in the Round 2 slot is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick86 Rnd3 Max Melton
Max Melton is a better player than the 86th pick suggests; smart patience, rewarded. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick123 Rnd4 Trey Benson
They will replay Trey Benson at pick No. 123 for years; that is how good the value is. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick127 Rnd4 McKinnley Jackson
Good price on McKinnley Jackson in No. 127, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick188 Rnd6 Jaheim Bell
Jaheim Bell at Round 6, Pick 13 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick238 Rnd7 Zion Logue
They reached a country mile for Zion Logue at pick No. 238, and the board is aghast. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick247 Rnd7 Tyler Owens
Tyler Owens in pick 247 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick252 Rnd7 Michael Barrett
Nice patience on Michael Barrett, who had no business lasting to the 252nd overall pick. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
