Draft Grade — Cardinals
Overall B
ValueB NeedB+ TradesB- FutureB-
The Cardinals won the night they stopped Rattler from sliding. Grade: B.

Call it larceny. Spencer Rattler sat on the board until the 90th overall pick, and the Cardinals did not need to be asked twice. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B.

They will need Irving to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.

Pick Analysis
Pick4 Rnd1 Marvin Harrison Jr.
They did well to land Marvin Harrison Jr. in pick No. 4, just ahead of his grade. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick27 Rnd1 Tyler Guyton
In the Round 1 slot they get an anchor for the offensive line. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick35 Rnd2 Payton Wilson
Payton Wilson at Round 2, Pick 3 is a conviction pick that outran the value. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick66 Rnd3 Jaden Hicks
A market-rate safety, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Jaden Hicks. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick71 Rnd3 Bucky Irving
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Bucky Irving well ahead of where he belonged. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick90 Rnd3 Spencer Rattler
Spencer Rattler in slot 90 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
