Draft Grade — Cardinals
Overall B
ValueB- NeedA- TradesB- FutureB-
The Cardinals kept it disciplined and banked a B.

There is conviction, and then there is this. The Cardinals took Tommy Eichenberg a full 74 picks ahead of where the board had him, an overdraft steep enough that it colors the whole weekend. More right than wrong, and a B to match.

They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it. Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Fiske.

The roster is better shaped than it was, with quarterback chief among the fixes.

Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.

Pick Analysis
Pick4 Rnd1 Malik Nabers
In the Round 1 slot they get a true top target. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick27 Rnd1 Tyler Guyton
In the 27th pick they get a plug-and-play piece up front at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick35 Rnd2 Jackson Powers-Johnson
They did well to land Jackson Powers-Johnson in pick No. 35, just ahead of his grade. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick66 Rnd3 Braden Fiske
Braden Fiske is a better player than Round 3, Pick 2 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick71 Rnd3 Tommy Eichenberg
Tommy Eichenberg in the 71st overall pick is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick90 Rnd3 Spencer Rattler
This one needs a full-page explanation: Spencer Rattler in pick 90, miles early. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick104 Rnd4 Braelon Allen
No drama and no debate, Braelon Allen went about where he belonged in pick No. 104. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
