Draft Grade — Texans
Overall B
ValueB NeedB+ TradesB- FutureB-
No fireworks, just a tidy B for the Texans.

There was a run on nobody at that position, and the Texans started one anyway for Ty'Ron Hopper, 50 picks ahead of schedule.

That Rosemy-Jacksaint pick is the receipt they will wave around later. That interior defensive lineman hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.

A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.

Pick Analysis
Pick23 Rnd1 Brian Thomas Jr.
In pick No. 23 they get a matchup problem out wide. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick59 Rnd2 Chop Robinson
Taking Chop Robinson in No. 59 is close to grand larceny; an edge rusher that good had no business lasting this long. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick86 Rnd3 DJ James
DJ James at the Round 3 slot is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick123 Rnd4 Renardo Green
Renardo Green in the 123rd overall pick is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick127 Rnd4 Ty'Ron Hopper
Value said wait; Ty'Ron Hopper in the 127th pick says they were not listening. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick224 Rnd7 Frank Gore Jr.
They paid sticker price for Frank Gore Jr. in pick 224, and that is fine. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick238 Rnd7 Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint
Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint at pick No. 238 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick247 Rnd7 Sam Hartman
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Sam Hartman well ahead of where he belonged. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
