Aboogie DRAFTING FOR THEEagles
Draft Grade — Eagles
Overall
B
ValueB
NeedB+
TradesB-
FutureB-
The Eagles kept it disciplined and banked a B. There is a lot to like until you notice edge rusher is still a hole. The Eagles never got to the one that mattered most. It nets out to a B, which feels about right.
They banked enough surplus on Sweat to cover a lot of smaller sins. Cornerback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
Nearly every premium pick went to that side of the ball.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick Analysis
Pick22
Rnd1
Kool-Aid McKinstry
In slot 22 they get a sticky cover corner. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick50
Rnd2
Edgerrin Cooper
Edgerrin Cooper at the Round 2 slot is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick53
Rnd2
T'Vondre Sweat
T'Vondre Sweat is a better player than pick No. 53 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick120
Rnd4
Blake Fisher
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Blake Fisher. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
