Larceny in pick No. 227 lands the Vikings a B, Barrett and all.

The value of the weekend has a name and a slot: Michael Barrett, the 227th overall pick, roughly 38 picks past where he belonged.

A whole weekend of picks and running back is somehow still a want. On the needs board they went 6 of 8, with quarterback the one that mattered most. The offense got the lion's share of the attention.

A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.

Pick Analysis
Pick11 Rnd1 Rome Odunze
In the 11th pick they get a weapon on the perimeter. A real need, handled.
Pick42 Rnd2 Bo Nix
You do not let a quarterback like Bo Nix reach No. 42 and blink. They did not. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick109 Rnd4 Jaden Hicks
A straight-up fair deal on Jaden Hicks at pick No. 109, value and slot in agreement. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick130 Rnd4 Johnny Dixon
A reasonable price with a little left over, Johnny Dixon in pick 130. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick145 Rnd5 Isaiah Adams
Isaiah Adams at the 145th overall pick is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick157 Rnd5 Khristian Boyd
No edge and no loss on Khristian Boyd in slot 157; it is a wash and a sensible one. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick166 Rnd5 Justin Rogers
Justin Rogers in Round 5, Pick 30 is fair value, right on his grade. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick179 Rnd6 Chau Smith-Wade
They read the board right and Chau Smith-Wade was the payoff at the Round 6 slot. A want dressed up as a pick, at a spot they had covered.
Pick227 Rnd7 Michael Barrett
A top-tier linebacker at a bargain, Michael Barrett in the 227th pick, plain and simple. It adds depth where they could use a little.
