Draft Grade — Vikings
Overall B
ValueB+ NeedB+ TradesA+ FutureF
The Vikings found their guy under center in Daniels: B.

The Vikings spent the pick that matters most on Jayden Daniels, and a roster that has been waiting on a passer can start to take shape.

The dealing alone would carry a lesser class. They will answer for taking TE-EDGE early while safety and tight end went begging.

They will regret leaving safety for another day if the season turns on it. Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Washington.

Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.

Pick Analysis
Pick17 Rnd1 Jayden Daniels
In pick No. 17 they get the face of the franchise at a price that makes it sweeter. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick42 Rnd2 Chop Robinson
Chop Robinson at Round 2, Pick 10 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the edge rusher. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick61 Rnd2 Zach Frazier
They paid sticker price for Zach Frazier in the 61st overall pick, and that is fine. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick73 Rnd3 Ja'Lynn Polk
The board fumbled Ja'Lynn Polk all the way to pick 73, and they scooped it up. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick79 Rnd3 Junior Colson
Nice patience on Junior Colson, who had no business lasting to No. 79. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick92 Rnd3 Mike Sainristil
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Mike Sainristil in the Round 3 slot. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick96 Rnd3 McKinnley Jackson
Value with a capital V on McKinnley Jackson in the 96th pick, a genuine coup. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick109 Rnd4 Cade Stover
They bypassed pressing needs at safety and tight end to take Cade Stover, a TE-EDGE that was not the priority.
Pick130 Rnd4 Mohamed Kamara
Mohamed Kamara in pick No. 130 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick145 Rnd5 Malik Washington
They barely believed it either: Malik Washington still on the board at No. 145. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick157 Rnd5 Javion Cohen
Fair-plus on Javion Cohen, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick170 Rnd5 Jaylen Wright
Good price on Jaylen Wright in the 170th overall pick, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
