3 Teams to Trade Down in 2022 NFL Draft to Improve Super Bowl Odds

Odds to win the Super Bowl with prediction on NFL Draft Trades.

The 2022 NFL Draft kicks off this Thursday in Las Vegas with the first round of picks. While many teams are searching for a way to trade up in the draft, other teams would be better off trading high picks for multiple ones in later rounds.

With that in mind, let's take a look at three teams who might be better off getting lower picks than one blue-chip prospect.

Buffalo Bills

Odds to win the Super Bowl: +700

While the rest of this list is full of longshots, the Bills are in an interesting spot heading into this year’s draft. The Bills are the second-favorite to win the Super Bowl behind the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (+600), but they also have some decent assets in the 2022 NFL Draft.

The Bills have three picks in the top 100 including the 25th and 57th overall picks. While an argument could be made for moving up and being aggressive. I think that there is enough talent deep in this draft to address their current needs. Patience could pay off here and they could trade out of the first round and snag extra picks on days two and three.

Seattle Seahawks

Odds to win the Super Bowl: +10000

The Seattle Seahawks are in need of a franchise quarterback. Unlike other teams, they are actually in the position to nab one if they play their cards right. With the No. 9 pick in the draft, they are in a bit of a weird spot. Probably too low to get in on the action for. But, also a little too high to be drafting Kenny Pickett.

It makes sense that the Seahawks could tempt fate and trade back their No. 9 pick for something in the mid-to-late-teens. Pickett should be on the board then and the Seahawks could snag an extra pick along the way to aid in their rebuild.

New York Jets

Odds to win the Super Bowl: +20000

While the Jets are tied with the Texans and Falcons for the worst odds to win the Super Bowl, they do have a lot of power in the 2022 NFL Draft. With both the No. 4 and the No. 10 pick on Thursday, there are a lot of options at hand for one of the worst teams in football. The Jets also possess the 35th, 38th, 69th, 111th, 146th, and 163rd picks this year.

Their No. 10 pick will be highly coveted by those looking to draft one of the top quarterbacks. I think it's likely the Jets use their top pick and trade down with their 10th pick to gain even more bodies for 2022.
