Create a Draft Room- Introducing Multiplayer Mode to the Draft Simulator

Draft Room Mode is a new multiplayer layer on top of the simulator you already use. Create or join a private room, claim teams, set pick timers and rules, then draft and trade in real time.

On Draft Night: How a Room Plays Out

The room owner acts as commissioner, setting rounds, pick timers and CPU trade behavior. They start a short countdown, and the draft runs for everyone. When a human-controlled team is on the clock, the user has a timed window to pick while the whole room watches the board update. Trade proposals pause the draft so the recipient can accept or reject. When a deal clears, assets swap and the board updates instantly. CPU teams run at the chosen speed and can optionally trade with each other to add realism. In short: it's the simulator, turned into a shared war room.

What You Can Do at a Glance

- Create private Draft Rooms and invite friends with a Room ID plus six-digit Join Code
- Claim one or more NFL teams and act as that team's GM during the session
- Owner controls: start/pause the draft, set pick timers (30s–3m), draft speed and trade rules
- Propose and resolve user-to-user trades—the draft pauses while offers are decided
- Optionally allow CPU-to-CPU trades for added chaos
- Group chat with join/leave notifications
- Save the entire multi-team draft (registered users) and restore it later in the simulator

Join, Claim, Draft: Quick Steps

1. Host: Create a Draft Room and share the Room ID plus Join Code with your group
2. Everyone: Log in, open the simulator, click SHOW MULTI USER DRAFT, enter the ID and Code, and join in place
3. Claim teams: Click team logos and confirm selections
4. Owner: Set rounds, pick timer and CPU trade option, then start the 10-second countdown
5. Draft: Pick when your team is on the clock; propose trades from the Team/Trade console. Accept/reject pauses the draft until decided
6. Finish: Save the full draft (registered users). You can later restore the full session or convert it into a depth chart on desktop

Save and Restore: Full Multi-Team Drafts

Unlike single-user saves that capture single-team snapshots, Draft Room Mode lets registered users save the entire room state—every pick and trade for all teams. Saved sessions can be reloaded into the simulator so groups can review, replay, or turn the result into a depth chart on desktop.

Why This Beats Single-User Mode

- Shared control — multiple people act as GMs instead of one person doing it all
- Full session saves — preserve the entire draft and its trades
- Authentic pacing — timed pick windows, low-time warnings and pause-for-trade keep the flow realistic

New Feature Note and Bug Reporting

This is a new feature built on the existing simulator. You may see rough edges as we roll it out. If you find a bug, include the Room ID if applicable, a brief description and a screenshot, then email [email protected]. We'll investigate and fix issues quickly.
