Early Favorites Ahead of Super Bowl LX

Before the playoffs, we’ve already seen a few noteworthy upsets, like the Kansas City Chiefs missing the cut. Analysts are highlighting how much new blood will contend at conference finals, and maybe the big bowl itself. Here are the early favorites.

Seattle Seahawks: +375

Based on recent performances, the Seattle Seahawks have stormed ahead to become the favorite in the eyes of many sportsbooks. They sailed through the regular season at 14-3 and became the NFC’s #1 seed, and they’ve built one of the best offensive squads led by QB Sam Darnold, with Klint Kubiak coordinating off-field. Add in coach Mike McDonald’s recent defense overhaul, and they look like the most balanced squad with momentum and morale on their side.

Naturally, most sportsbooks have already started competing for bettors’ early predictions, suggesting teams like the Seahawks as the favorite and offering promo codes to sweeten the deal. The Seahawks first hit BetMGM’s books with much longer odds – +6000 – but then, with every game, they’ve clawed their way to become the favorite.

Los Angeles Rams: +450

In such an unpredictable playoff season, some pundits are banking on the team that has been there before. Under Sean McVay, the Los Angeles Rams won Super Bowl LVI in the 2021 season. While a lot of historically dominant teams seem to have cooled off this season, the Rams' fundamentals with McVay and MVP favorite QB Matthew Stafford haven’t changed. With 30.5 points per game this season, their heavy 13 Personnel offense formation broke more teams than not. That could be a problem for the Seahawks’ new defense arrangement.

BetMGM has the Rams at +425 as of writing, the second-place favorite. They opened at +2200, so they were a mid-tier competitor before the season was fully played. With the NFC championship fast approaching, it’s looking more likely we could see a Rams vs. Seahawks match-up to decide who goes to the Super Bowl.

Denver Broncos: +650

Meanwhile, over in the AFC, the loss of the Kansas City Chiefs has thrown prediction markets for a loop. This catapulted two teams in particular toward better odds – the Denver Broncos and the Buffalo Bills. Then, based on more recent performance, sportsbooks are eyeing the Broncos over the Bills for Super Bowl LX. They hit the same win record as the Seahawks – 14-3 – and are now the AFC’s #1 seed. A lot of that success was down to rookie QB Bo Nix, who has proven himself to be an elite passer and runner in the red zone, where the pressure gets to experienced QBs.

Defensively, the Broncos also hit the playoffs with over 60 sacks in the regular season. Like the Seahawks, this strong offense and defense combined could be enough to take the AFC and then the Bowl itself. BetMGM has them at +650 odds, as the third-favorite to go the distance. Having started at +3000, many sportsbooks underestimated what Bo Nix would do for the team this season.

As the playoffs continue, there’s still time for one last-minute upset that changes sportsbooks’ opinions going into February. But, from current performance, the NFC looks like it belongs to either the Seahawks or the Rams, while the Bills could still stand in the way of the Broncos at the AFC championship, before 2026’s main event.
