Where will Arch Manning be drafted in 2027?

Arch Manning has arguably been the talk of college football this season. The Texas quarterback did not declare for the 2026 draft, and now is among the best prospects expected to declare in 2027, but his senior season has already pushed early futures markets toward one question: where will he land once he finally declares?

Manning has already been put to the test for the Longhorns

Manning opened the year with a statement performance, completing 20 of 27 passes for 305 yards and four touchdowns in a 59-7 rout of Texas State. It was the most productive season-opening line for a Texas quarterback since Sam Ehlinger's five-touchdown outing in 2020.

The bigger test came a week later against Ohio State. Texas trailed 23-3 entering the fourth quarter before Manning led a comeback for the ages, going 8 of 11 down the stretch to finish 23 of 37 for 196 yards, a touchdown and an interception in a 24-23 win. In his next game against UTSA, Manning completed just over half his passes for 164 yards and two touchdowns, a much weaker outing than against Ohio State.

A big season remains for Manning and the Longhorns, especially given the high expectations from the Ohio State comeback win, coupled with Texas being the top ranked team in the country at the start of the year.

Where will he go in the 2027 draft?

Arch Manning is not a certainty to go 1st in the draft in 2027. Projecting a landing spot two drafts out is guesswork, but the exercise usually starts with which franchises look stuck at quarterback right now. Teams currently near the bottom of the league, still searching for a long-term answer under center, are the ones most often linked to Manning in early 2027 draft chatter, even though rosters and coaching staffs can shift dramatically before then. 

Right now, teams picking in the top five of early 2027 mock drafts are usually rebuilding rosters around a young core, and a Manning-type project fits that timeline. The Pittsburgh Steelers will be looking to replace veteran Aaron Rodgers, and to find a long-term solution to the offensive struggles set to dog their season.

His profile tends to appeal most to teams willing to let a rookie sit and develop behind a veteran, rather than a franchise needing a starter on day one. The Cleveland Browns are in dire need of a new franchise piece, even though some still support QB Shadeur Sanders, teams like the Dolphins and the Jaguars may well be towards the bottom of the draft and be able to pick up a franchise cornerstone.
