Elijah Arroyo from Independence High School was rated a 4-star recruit by ESPN and handed a 4-star grade by 247 Sports. After high school, Arroyo opted to join Miami (FL).In 2021 as a freshman Arroyo saw action in 12 games for the Hurricanes as he made 5 receptions for only 80 yards for an average of 16.0 yards per reception, with one TD, and an elite QB rating when targeted of 135.4. As a blocker he allowed one pressure and no sacks.
As a sophomore in 2022 he played 4 games and had only 5 catches for 66 yards for an average of 13.2 yards per catch, with no TDs, and QB rating when targeted of 61.3. In pass protection he gave up 2 pressures and no sacks.
As a junior in 2023 he played 4 games and hauled in only one catch for only 11 yards for an average of 11.0 yards per catch, with no TDs, and QB rating when targeted of 112.5.
