Draft Profile: Bio
Horace Lockett Jr. was a four-star defensive tackle at Westlake High School in Atlanta, earning all-region honors as both an offensive and defensive lineman while his team went 21-5 across his last two seasons. He signed with Georgia Tech, redshirted in 2022 and played in 10 games at nose tackle in 2023, forcing a key fumble in the Gasparilla Bowl against UCF.

A hand injury wiped out his 2024 season, and Lockett transferred to UCF in search of a fresh start. He opened 2025 with 12 tackles, two pass breakups and his first career sack in four games before tearing a pectoral muscle against Kansas State. He put his name in the portal in December but pulled it out within days to stay with the Knights.

Healthy again and a Senior Bowl Top 300 selection, Lockett has anchored the middle of UCF's defensive front in 2026, recording 1.5 tackles for loss and a shared sack in the 12-7 loss at Pittsburgh.
Scouting Report: Strengths
  • Enormous 6-foot-6, 355-pound nose who absorbs double teams and keeps linebackers clean
  • Stout on early downs, with 10 run stops in five appearances this season
  • Pushes the pocket better than a man his size should, with a sack and six pressures this season
  • Flashed as a rusher in 2025 before the pectoral tear, with a sack in four games
  • Tough, resilient competitor who has come back from two significant injuries
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
  • Medical file is the main concern after a lost 2024 and a torn pectoral in 2025
  • Small body of work, with nine games played over the last three seasons
  • Snap counts are managed, staying under 50 in every game this fall
  • Limited range outside the tackle box and on plays that stretch the line
Scouting Report: Summary
Lockett is one of the biggest human beings in college football, a 6-foot-6, 355-pound nose tackle with the strength to absorb double teams and the quickness to disrupt when blockers overcommit. When healthy, he has been genuinely effective: he was making plays early in 2025 before his pectoral tear, and this fall he has been a steady run defender who keeps UCF's linebackers clean while adding a sack and six pressures in limited snaps. His coaches credit him for refusing to shut down after two serious injuries, and that resolve shows up in how hard he plays.

However, the medical file will define his evaluation. He missed all of 2024 with a hand injury, most of 2025 with the torn pectoral, and has played only nine games over the last three seasons. Even now, his snaps are carefully managed, and at his size he offers little range outside the tackle box or on long-developing plays.

Overall, Lockett is a massive, powerful run-stuffer with real upside if he can stay on the field for a full season. He projects as a sixth-round nose tackle. In an odd front he could develop into a two-down starter, and his size alone guarantees a long look in camp.

*Percentile Ranking in Player's Position Group (NFL Combine Historical Data): This percentile reflects how a player's specific statistics rank in comparison to historical performances at the NFL Combine, specifically within their position group. A higher percentile indicates a better performance. For instance, being in the 90th percentile for a particular stat means the player outperformed 90% of their peers in that category.

*Similarity Percentage: This percentage is calculated based on a comprehensive analysis of various factors, including height, weight, 40-yard dash times, on-field performance statistics, and overall player rating. The analysis is conducted against our database of draft prospects from 2021 to 2023. This similarity score helps in evaluating how closely a current prospect aligns with past prospects. It is important to note, however, that this score reflects similarities based on college production and attributes, and does not account for eventual success or performance in the NFL.
