Jacolby George from Plantation High School was rated a 4-star recruit by ESPN and handed a 3-star grade by 247 Sports. After high school, George opted to join Miami (FL).In 2021 as a freshman George saw action in 8 games for the Hurricanes as he made 8 receptions for 176 yards for an average of 22.0 yards per reception, with one TD, and an excellent QB rating when targeted of 137.5.
As a sophomore in 2022 he played 7 games and had just 13 catches for 130 yards for an average of 10.0 yards per catch, with no TDs, and QB rating when targeted of 73.2.
As a junior in 2023 he played 12 games and hauled in 55 catches for 851 yards for an average of 15.5 yards per catch, with 8 TDs, and an excellent QB rating when targeted of 100.8.
Scouting Report: Strengths
- George plays with a smoothness and balance, and George shows a knack for setting up defensive backs.
- He’s equally dangerous in catch-and-run situations as he is taking the top off a defense
- Does a nice job locating and tracking deep passes and is a legitimate vertical threat. Willing to go up and attack the ball.
- Flashes the foot quickness and toughness to handle slot duties at the next level and lines up all over the field. Dangerous with the ball in his hands.
- When used downfield, he shows the ball-tracking skills and hand-eye coordination to make the adjustment on underthrown balls and back-shoulder throws.
- Very good hands, accepts the ball fluidly on most throws and is ready to make a play afterward. Makes catches in traffic, even going up over taller defenders with vertical and toughness.
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
- George isn’t going to make contested catches.
- George seems comfortable in traffic to the point where George doesn’t make the effort to create separation.
- He’ll be coming to the NFL from a wide-open spread offense in which he ran a limited route tree.
