Draft Profile: Bio
LSU signed Toviano out of Arlington Martin High School in Texas, where he earned four-star grades from 247Sports, ESPN and Rivals as one of the state's top defensive back prospects in the 2023 class. He stepped straight into the cornerback rotation as a freshman, playing 10 games in 2023 and recording 29 tackles.Toviano moved from cornerback to safety ahead of the 2024 season and appeared in all 13 games, totaling 12 tackles with a tackle for loss and making his first career start in LSU's Texas Bowl win over Baylor. In 2025 he worked as a reserve safety and special teams player across nine games, posting five tackles, with his most extensive action coming against Southeastern Louisiana, when he played a season-high 25 snaps and made three tackles.
Following the 2025 season, Toviano entered the transfer portal as a junior, closing a three-season run in Baton Rouge during which he saw action at both cornerback and safety.
Scouting Report: Strengths
- Former blue-chip recruit with the frame to develop on the back end
- Plays downhill and finishes tackles near the line
- Carries the athletic tools that drew a recruiting profile
- Young developmental clay with cover traits to refine
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
- Logged only sixty-five snaps across a fractured season
- Availability and status are uncertain and must be confirmed
- The beaten too often in coverage on the small sample
- Below-average timed speed limits the deep coverage range
- Production and technique are unproven at the college level
Scouting Report: Summary
Toviano is a developmental safety and former blue-chip recruit whose 2025 amounted to a fractured sixty-five snaps, a defender with the frame and recruiting pedigree to develop but almost no recent tape. He competes downhill and finishes near the line in his limited action, and the athletic tools that earned the recruiting profile are the projection. The case at this stage is the pedigree and the traits rather than anything on film. The tape and the circumstances are the concerns. He played only sixty-five snaps, his gives up too much in coverage on the small sample, and his below-average timed speed limits the deep range. His production and technique are unproven at the college level, and his availability and status are uncertain and must be confirmed before any projection firms up. He is a traits-and-pedigree evaluation with significant questions attached.
He grades as a developmental safety whose timeline runs well beyond this cycle, a young player who needs snaps, technique, and a defined role before the tools translate. The minimal tape and the unresolved status keep the grade low, and the availability must be cleared before publishing. He grades as a priority-free-agent profile built on pedigree and upside, with the status the first thing to clear. The tools are the only real draw.

*Percentile Ranking in Player's Position Group (NFL Combine Historical Data): This percentile reflects how a player's specific statistics rank
in comparison to historical performances at the NFL Combine, specifically within their position group. A higher percentile indicates a better performance.
For instance, being in the 90th percentile for a particular stat means the player outperformed 90% of their peers in that category.
*Similarity Percentage: This percentage is calculated based on a comprehensive analysis of various factors, including height, weight, 40-yard dash times, on-field performance statistics, and overall player rating. The analysis is conducted against our database of draft prospects from 2021 to 2023. This similarity score helps in evaluating how closely a current prospect aligns with past prospects. It is important to note, however, that this score reflects similarities based on college production and attributes, and does not account for eventual success or performance in the NFL.
