Draft Profile: Bio
Trevor Lauck was a two-way captain at Roncalli High School in Indianapolis, where he won a state title as a sophomore and was a three-time all-state pick. He set the school's indoor shot put record, lettered in basketball and played in the All-American Bowl. Rivals rated him a four-star recruit, and he committed to Iowa in June 2022 over 18 other offers, including Michigan, Ohio State and Tennessee.Lauck did not play as a freshman and appeared in three games in 2024. He won the left tackle job over Jack Dotzler in 2025 camp and started all 13 games, allowing no sacks and six pressures on the Joe Moore Award-winning line. He was a third-team All-Big Ten pick by the coaches and won the team's offensive coaches appreciation award, and Iowa finished 9-4 with a ReliaQuest Bowl win over Vanderbilt. Kirk Ferentz said during camp that both Lauck and Dotzler had improved a lot.
Lauck returned for 2026 as one of Iowa's two returning starters up front and was named to Athlon's preseason All-America second team. He has started all eight games at left tackle for a 6-2 team, allowing a sack against Wisconsin and five pressures in total, and Iowa ran for 711 yards in its wins over Northern Illinois and Northern Iowa. He was on the Joe Moore Award midseason honor roll and is one of six juniors on the team's player council.

Scouting Report: Summary
Lauck is a technically sound tackle who went his whole first year as Iowa's starter without allowing a sack. He wins with punch timing, balanced sets and the recognition Iowa linemen are known for, and he has carried it into 2026 with five pressures allowed in eight starts. He is not flashy, but his reps look the same from the first quarter to the fourth. Through 450 snaps this season he has allowed one sack, and three penalties are the main blemishes on his 2026 tape.He has also been part of two strong run-blocking lines. Iowa won the Joe Moore Award in 2025, and this fall the Hawkeyes ran for 711 yards in their wins over Northern Illinois and Northern Iowa. He climbs to linebackers on time, seals the edge on outside zone and plays with leverage that lets him anchor against power despite modest bulk. Iowa's line was also on the Joe Moore Award midseason honor roll this fall.
However, his foot speed is only average, and the widest NFL speed rushers will test his corner. Ohio State's front got him for two pressures and a penalty in October, and Wisconsin produced the one sack he has allowed. His run blocking is functional rather than overpowering, and if his arms measure short, some teams will write him up as a guard. He is also a redshirt junior who could return to Iowa for another season.
Overall, Lauck relies on refinement and disciplined hands to cover average length and foot speed, and he has protected like a veteran since his first start. He projects as a first-round zone tackle with the ability to swing inside, with the upside of a long-term left tackle and a floor as a guard. He has only one full season as a starter after appearing in three games in 2024, so his best football may still be ahead of him.
