Southern Miss Golden Eagles NFL Draft Prospects

Southern Miss went 7-6 (5-3 Sun Belt) in 2025, a season that promised more than it delivered. The Golden Eagles ripped off a 5-0 start in conference play before running out of gas in November, dropping their final regular-season games and then falling to Western Kentucky 16-27 in the New Orleans Bowl. A revival under Charles Huff fizzled into that late slide, and it cost him his job.

The reset is dramatic. Blake Anderson, promoted from offensive coordinator last December, takes over a program that returns essentially one meaningful starter on offense, with the kicker and punter the other holdovers. Anderson is no stranger to winning in the Sun Belt, having gone 74-55 over ten seasons as a head coach and reaching nine bowls between Arkansas State and Utah State, but by his own admission he has never faced a rebuild of this size. As he put it this spring, the staff is essentially starting from scratch on nearly the entire roster, evaluating and teaching at every position.
