Draft Profile: Bio
Growing up in Kansas City with Nigerian roots, Adepoju Adebawore became a consensus five-star recruit, ranked ninth nationally in the 2023 class by 247Sports, after posting 19 tackles for loss as a junior at North Kansas City High School. The younger brother of Colts defensive lineman Adetomiwa Adebawore chose Oklahoma over Arkansas, Missouri, and Northwestern.His first two Sooners seasons were rotational, with 1.5 sacks across 13 games in 2023 and one sack in 10 games in 2024. In 2025 Adebawore played all 13 games off the edge and set career highs with 17 tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss, and 2.5 sacks, recording 1.5 sacks in the win at South Carolina, another sack against Missouri, and season bests of four tackles and two tackles for loss against Kent State.
Oklahoma finished 10-3 and reached the College Football Playoff for the first time since 2019, falling 34-24 to Alabama in the first round in Norman. Adebawore briefly entered the transfer portal in the offseason before withdrawing and remaining with the Sooners for 2026.

The raw tools are the entire reason to stay patient with the evaluation.The tape says he is a long way from finished. The production is thin with two sacks on a rotational snap count, the run defense lags and the anchor is unsettled, and the tackling finish is poor, including two misses against Auburn. His rush plan is raw, leaning on athleticism without a counter when the first move gets handled. He is a developmental prospect whose flashes outnumber his consistent wins, which is the honest read of the snaps.
He grades as a traits-based developmental edge who needs a patient room and a defined role to grow into, the kind of bet a defense makes on rare athleticism rather than current production. The ceiling is high if the hands and the anchor catch up; The floor is a rotational rusher who has to earn snaps. That lands a Day 3 grade with upside worth chasing.
