Brown rewrote the Louisville record book as a true freshman, becoming the first first-year player in program history to rush for over 1,000 yards and earning ACC Rookie of the Year and Offensive Rookie of the Year honors in 2024. A Miami-area product out of Homestead, he was a three-star who ran for more than 1,000 yards as a high school senior. He carried high expectations into his sophomore year.A leg injury suffered against Virginia Tech cut his 2025 short, but Brown still rushed 100 times for 878 yards and seven touchdowns across nine games at 8.8 a carry, forcing 39 missed tackles and gaining 533 yards after contact. He opted to return to Louisville rather than transfer, an explosive, big-play back whose burst and balance carried the Cardinal ground game when healthy. The record-setting freshman year and the explosive runs showed a back who hits home runs, and the loyalty to stay in Louisville keeps the Cardinal backfield built around him.
Scouting Report: Strengths

Per-touch production was never the question. Brown averaged nearly nine yards a carry in 2025 and has been an explosive-play machine since winning ACC Rookie of the Year as a true freshman; the Boston College game, 201 yards on 14 carries, is the kind of tape that makes scouts sit up regardless of the ranking. When he gets a crease, the run usually ends in the secondary.The rest of the file is complicated. A leg injury against Virginia Tech erased half his season and is the first thing the medical staffs will chase. He is among the smallest backs in the class, which removes the inside-grinder role entirely, and the blocking math is worse: keeping him in to protect is a losing bet, so his third-down value has to come through the air, where the impact so far is all dump-offs. Two fumbles in nine games on a part-time touch count compounds the trust problem.
He returns to Louisville for 2026 with everything to prove about durability and nothing to prove about juice. For the league, the honest projection is a camp battle: a space-and-screens specialist whose explosiveness gives him a real chance to outplay this slot, but whose size, medical file and ball security questions mean he has to win a roster spot rather than be handed one. The talent says watch him closely next fall.
