Draft Profile: Bio
Isaiah Jones was a two-time conference Defensive Player of the Year at London High School in Ohio, making 99 tackles and returning an interception for a touchdown as a senior to earn first-team All-Ohio honors. He ran track as well and was rated a three-star recruit.Jones redshirted at Indiana in 2022, and a back injury limited him in 2023. He became a special teams standout in 2024, tying for the Big Ten lead in coverage tackles, then started seven games in 2025 and made third-team All-Big Ten. He had two sacks against Ohio State, a sack and an interception against Oregon, and recovered a blocked punt for a touchdown in the national title game against Miami.
In his last college season, Jones has started every game for the 8-1 Hoosiers. He posted the first double-digit tackle game of his career against North Texas and returned an interception 21 yards in the 38-0 win over Western Kentucky.
Scouting Report: Strengths
- Reads and fills quickly against the run, with 42 stops in nine games
- Picked off a pass against Western Kentucky and has a knack for big plays
- Proven special teams player who tied for the Big Ten lead in coverage tackles in 2024
- Rose to the occasion in 2025, with two sacks against Ohio State and an interception against Oregon
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
- Missed 11 tackles this season, including three each against North Texas and Northwestern
- Undersized for the position, so climbing linemen can wash him out
- No sacks in 2026, so his blitz impact has faded
- Nebraska completed five of seven passes thrown his way
- Back injury limited him in 2023, which teams will want to check
Scouting Report: Summary
Jones is an instinctive, productive linebacker who has been part of Indiana's rise. He diagnoses runs quickly, gets downhill and has a habit of making plays in big moments, from his two sacks against Ohio State to the blocked-punt touchdown in the title game. His work on special teams is a bonus. However, his tackling has been loose this season, with 11 misses, and his light frame can be swallowed by blockers. He has not been the same pass-rush threat in 2026, and quarterbacks have found completions in his area, as Nebraska did.
Overall, Jones is a smart, experienced linebacker, and his special teams play is his calling card. He projects as a priority free agent who will compete for a role covering kicks.
