Draft Profile: Bio
Jaydn Ott from Norco High School was rated a 4-star recruit by ESPN and handed a 4-star grade by 247 Sports. Following high school, Ott joined California. In 2022 as a freshman Ott saw action in 12 games for the Golden Bears as he ran for 890 yards on 170 attempts for an impressive 5.2 yards per carry, with 8 TDs, with one fumble. Scouting Report: Strengths
- His passing game skills are strong. He’s a natural hands catcher who turns upfield quickly in the screen game, and Ott shows a great feel for setting up wheel routes.
- He’s capable as a receiver, a weapon on swing passes and in the screen game.
- Ott does a nice job with recognition as a pass protector and gives good effort.
- He keeps his pads low and consistently falls forward. Unlike most backs his size, he has the lateral movement and stop-start ability to make defenders whiff. He has breakaway speed in the open field.
- A compact runner, he has a rare blend of balance, agility and instincts.
- Ott has the straight-line speed to outrun angles, and his flexibility allows him to turn the corner on the perimeter and stay near top speed as he does; he’s especially effective on fly sweeps.
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
- Ott could stand to get smaller when squeezing through traffic.
- Too indecisive and hesitant at the line of scrimmage.
- Ott has a slight build, especially for a running back, and Ott isn’t going to grind out yardage between the tackles, as he lacks power and runs with a fairly high pad level.

*Percentile Ranking in Player's Position Group (NFL Combine Historical Data): This percentile reflects how a player's specific statistics rank

For instance, being in the 90th percentile for a particular stat means the player outperformed 90% of their peers in that category.
*Similarity Percentage: This percentage is calculated based on a comprehensive analysis of various factors, including height, weight, 40-yard dash times, on-field performance statistics, and overall player rating. The analysis is conducted against our database of draft prospects from 2021 to 2023. This similarity score helps in evaluating how closely a current prospect aligns with past prospects. It is important to note, however, that this score reflects similarities based on college production and attributes, and does not account for eventual success or performance in the NFL.
