Following high school, Walker opted to join Stephen F. Austin after being heavily recruited.

In 2020 as a freshman Walker saw action in 8 games and played a total of 247 snaps at safety for the Lumberjacks. He recorded 21 tackles, one assist, while adding 2 stops. In coverage Walker notched up one pass breakup, no interceptions, and QB rating when targetted of 91.8.

As a sophomore in 2021 he played in 12 games and logged 595 snaps for the Lumberjacks. He made 32 tackles, 6 assists, and had 9 stops. In coverage he totaled 2 pass breakups, 4 interceptions, and QB rating when targetted of 76.6.

In 2022 as a junior Walker played in 11 games and contributed on 656 snaps. He chalked up 21 tackles, 12 assists, and added 3 stops. In the secondary Walker forced 5 pass breakups, no interceptions, and gave up QB rating when targetted of 91.9.
Scouting Report: Strengths
  • He’s also very good in zone coverage, showing a great understanding of routes and the ability to close quickly.
  • He’s tall-framed with long arms to match. With his powerful hands, straight-line speed, and fluidity in his hips, turning and chasing downfield shouldn’t be a problem.
  • Effective out of the slot, showing the instincts and quickness to mirror when the receiver has a two-way go. Walker has good instincts and awareness when playing off, showing good route recognition and anticipation when breaking on the ball.
  • Walker can flip his hips and run, with good top-end speed and the length to make plays on the ball.
  • Does a good job getting his head around in time when playing with his back to the line of scrimmage. Has the ability to cover quickness underneath.
  • Instincts are outstanding, and Walker does an excellent job in route recognition.
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
  • Doesn’t have much on his frame, and considering his relatively narrow shoulders, Walker might not be able to add much and keep his twitch at an elite level.
  • Isn’t great in route recognition when he’s facing the action, is hesitant and susceptible to double moves, and too often gets unnecessarily handsy when playing trail position
  • Too often gives too much of a cushion while playing off his man, and it becomes especially problematic since he’s not a particularly willing tackler.

*Percentile Ranking in Player's Position Group (NFL Combine Historical Data): This percentile reflects how a player's specific statistics rank in comparison to historical performances at the NFL Combine, specifically within their position group. A higher percentile indicates a better performance. For instance, being in the 90th percentile for a particular stat means the player outperformed 90% of their peers in that category.

*Similarity Percentage: This percentage is calculated based on a comprehensive analysis of various factors, including height, weight, 40-yard dash times, on-field performance statistics, and overall player rating. The analysis is conducted against our database of draft prospects from 2021 to 2023. This similarity score helps in evaluating how closely a current prospect aligns with past prospects. It is important to note, however, that this score reflects similarities based on college production and attributes, and does not account for eventual success or performance in the NFL.
