Draft Profile: Bio
Keaten Wade from Summit High School was rated a 4-star recruit by ESPN and handed a 4-star grade by 247 Sports. After high school, Wade joined Kentucky after being heavily recruited.

In 2022 as a freshman Wade saw action in 8 games and played a total of 87 snaps for the Wildcats. He recorded just 8 tackles, one assist, while adding 5 stops. As a pass rusher, he added 4 total pressures, which included one QB hurry, one QB hit, and 2 sacks on the season.

As a sophomore for the Wildcats in 2023 Wade played in 12 games and took part in 371 snaps for the Wildcats. He recorded 22 tackles, 11 assists, while adding 19 stops. In coverage Wade made no pass breakups, no interceptions, and a disapointing QB rating when targetted of 124.1. As a pass rusher, he chalked up 21 total pressures, and 17 QB hurries, 3 QB hits, and one sack during the year.
Scouting Report: Strengths
  • He’s a capable blitzer with the ability to close quickly. He’s also very good in coverage, rangy with good awareness in zone coverage, and fluid and fast enough to run with most tight ends.
  • Plays with leverage at the point of attack whether inside or outside. Keeps eyes in the backfield when inside; moves linemen to either side with strong hands.
  • Wade has the kind of turn-and-run fluidity to be used in man coverage as well, able to run with tight ends and running backs.
  • He has violent hands and consistently breaks away and disengages from blockers. He’s instinctive, reading, reacting and locating the ball quickly, and finishing plays as an authoritative, wrap-up tackler.
  • He has the speed to be effective in pursuit, and Wade shows enough fluid athleticism that he might be able to transition to outside linebacker and hold up in coverage.
  • Wade has decent enough flexibility to bend the edge, and he shows a good closing burst.
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
  • Plays high and with poor balance and power. He’ll lose ground at the point of attack, and Wade doesn’t get the full benefit of his length.
  • Wade has to develop a counter move or two in the pass rush, and he needs to make better use of his hands.
  • Wade also shows some stiffness when trying to bend the edge, often getting pushed past the pocket — he seems more comfortable countering back inside.

*Percentile Ranking in Player's Position Group (NFL Combine Historical Data): This percentile reflects how a player's specific statistics rank in comparison to historical performances at the NFL Combine, specifically within their position group. A higher percentile indicates a better performance. For instance, being in the 90th percentile for a particular stat means the player outperformed 90% of their peers in that category.

*Similarity Percentage: This percentage is calculated based on a comprehensive analysis of various factors, including height, weight, 40-yard dash times, on-field performance statistics, and overall player rating. The analysis is conducted against our database of draft prospects from 2021 to 2023. This similarity score helps in evaluating how closely a current prospect aligns with past prospects. It is important to note, however, that this score reflects similarities based on college production and attributes, and does not account for eventual success or performance in the NFL.
