Draft Profile: Bio
Keon Wylie from Imhotep Institute High School was rated a 3-star recruit by ESPN and handed a 3-star grade by 247 Sports. After high school, Wylie joined Penn State. In 2022 as a freshman Wylie saw action in just 2 games and played a total of 16 snaps at linebacker for the Nittany Lions. He recorded no tackles, no assists, while adding no stops.
As a sophomore for the Nittany Lions in 2023 Wylie played in 9 games and took part in 102 snaps for the Nittany Lions. He recorded 10 tackles, one assist, while adding 7 stops. As a pass rusher, he chalked up 6 total pressures, and 2 QB hurries, one QB hit, and 3 sacks during the year.
Scouting Report: Strengths
- Wylie can move laterally and chase in pursuit. A tough, violent tackler with a non-stop motor, Wylie also shows good awareness when dropping into coverage.
- He has an excellent feel for working off blockers and knowing how and when to counter as the play goes on.
- Wylie will always try to plow into the largest piles and has a good knack of ending up glued to the ballcarrier.
- Good athlete. Shows a natural feel for pass rushing. Very good lateral agility to shake pass blockers.
- Keeps feet moving after initial contact. Jumps inside as a counter to typical rush, but needs to show a larger variety of moves.
- Handles misdirection well with quick change-of-direction ability. Comes downhill quickly against the run when he has an open lane.
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
- Wylie doesn’t play with the functional strength and physicality to fight through blocks; he’ll need to be covered up in order to maximize his playmaking.
- Saught looking into the backfield occasionally instead of getting to the receiver in the flat. Leaves his feet at times while tackling, and NFL backs will take advantage of that.
- Can be too hesitant when Wylie doesn't find the ball immediately.

*Percentile Ranking in Player's Position Group (NFL Combine Historical Data): This percentile reflects how a player's specific statistics rank
in comparison to historical performances at the NFL Combine, specifically within their position group. A higher percentile indicates a better performance.
For instance, being in the 90th percentile for a particular stat means the player outperformed 90% of their peers in that category.
*Similarity Percentage: This percentage is calculated based on a comprehensive analysis of various factors, including height, weight, 40-yard dash times, on-field performance statistics, and overall player rating. The analysis is conducted against our database of draft prospects from 2021 to 2023. This similarity score helps in evaluating how closely a current prospect aligns with past prospects. It is important to note, however, that this score reflects similarities based on college production and attributes, and does not account for eventual success or performance in the NFL.
