Draft Profile: Bio
A Philadelphia product out of Imhotep Charter, where he piled up 34 sacks and 45 tackles for loss over his final three prep seasons, Wylie signed with Penn State as a three-star and an all-state selection. He appeared in all thirteen games as a redshirt freshman in 2023 with thirteen tackles, five for loss and three sacks, then missed the entire 2024 season with an injury.
Wylie returned in 2025 in a complementary role, recording a sack, nine pressures and thirteen run stops across twelve games with nineteen tackles and a pass breakup. His loudest game came in the bowl against Clemson with four pressures, a dependable, role-defined veteran who scrapes and fills downhill before transferring to Virginia Tech after the season. The 34-sack high school resume and the special-teams value travel, and the bowl flash against Clemson capped a return season after a year lost to injury.
Scouting Report: Strengths
- Rotational linebacker with the run defense to anchor early downs
- Sacked Michigan State while flashing blitz value from depth
- Pressured Clemson four times in the bowl game
- Brings positional flexibility between off-ball and rushing roles
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
- Poor in coverage, a clear liability in space
- Played a rotation role, with only a small body of work
- Average timed speed limits the range to the perimeter
- Production is thin across a small set of snaps
- Eligibility timing suggests he may be more than a year away
Scouting Report: Summary
Wylie is a rotational off-ball linebacker whose run defense gives him a role on early downs, a flexible piece who can drop or rush and flashed blitz value with a sack against Michigan State and four pressures against Clemson in the bowl. The positional flexibility and the run-game competence are the foundation, even if the snaps and the production were limited behind Penn State's starters. There is a developmental base to work with here. The holdups are coverage, sample, and stage. His gives up too much in coverage and a clear liability in space, he played a rotation role with only a small body of work, and his average timed speed limits the range to the perimeter. His production is thin across the limited snaps, and his eligibility timing suggests he may be more than a year from a real draft projection. He is a developmental piece rather than a finished player.
He fits as a developmental, run-down and special-teams linebacker who needs more snaps and major coverage improvement to carve out a role. The poor coverage and the thin production cap the grade, but the run-defense base and flexibility give him something to build on. He grades as a priority-free-agent flier on developmental traits, now at a new program with room to grow into a larger role.

*Percentile Ranking in Player's Position Group (NFL Combine Historical Data): This percentile reflects how a player's specific statistics rank
in comparison to historical performances at the NFL Combine, specifically within their position group. A higher percentile indicates a better performance.
For instance, being in the 90th percentile for a particular stat means the player outperformed 90% of their peers in that category.
*Similarity Percentage: This percentage is calculated based on a comprehensive analysis of various factors, including height, weight, 40-yard dash times, on-field performance statistics, and overall player rating. The analysis is conducted against our database of draft prospects from 2021 to 2023. This similarity score helps in evaluating how closely a current prospect aligns with past prospects. It is important to note, however, that this score reflects similarities based on college production and attributes, and does not account for eventual success or performance in the NFL.
