Princewill Umanmielen was born in Brooklyn and grew up in Austin, Texas, where he made 47 tackles for loss and 21 sacks over his final two seasons at Manor High School. His brother Princely played at Florida and Ole Miss before the Carolina Panthers drafted him in the third round in 2025. A consensus four-star recruit, Princewill signed with Nebraska over Arkansas, Florida and Washington.Umanmielen made 22 tackles and earned freshman All-America honors from The Athletic in 2023, then played a smaller role in 2024 and moved on to Ole Miss, where he broke out in 2025 with 13 tackles for loss and 51 pressures, earning third-team All-SEC from the coaches, and he saved his best for the playoff, with 1.5 sacks against Tulane, six tackles against Georgia and a sack in the semifinal loss to Miami. He followed Lane Kiffin to LSU in January 2026 as 247Sports' top edge rusher in the portal, and Ole Miss has since sued him for $550,000, saying he broke a revenue-sharing agreement by transferring.
Umanmielen led the country in sacks after two games, with two against Clemson and three against Louisiana Tech, then left the Mississippi State game in the first quarter with a head injury. He returned at Auburn with two sacks and seven pressures, and he has 10 sacks and 29 pressures in eight games for a 6-2 team. He has said that pass rush is everything.

Scouting Report: Summary
Umanmielen is a bendy, productive pass rusher who ranks among the most disruptive players in the SEC this fall. He has 10 sacks and 29 pressures in eight games, including three sacks against Louisiana Tech and two each against Clemson and Auburn. He turns tight around the corner, flattens to the quarterback and converts speed to power when tackles overset, and his hand work has improved with each season. He has had at least one sack in six of his eight games.He has also produced on the biggest stages. He generated 51 pressures for an Ole Miss team that reached the playoff semifinal in 2025, with sacks against Tulane and Miami in the playoff, and he has carried that into his first season at LSU. He returned from a head injury suffered against Mississippi State to post two sacks and seven pressures at Auburn.
However, the rest of his game trails the rush. His timed speed is average, so he wins with bend and hands more than pure burst, and his anchor and run defense need to catch up, with five missed tackles this season. He is on his third program in four seasons, and Ole Miss has sued him for $550,000 over a revenue-sharing agreement he signed before transferring, which teams will ask about. The head injury in October will also be part of the medical review. His snap counts have also been moderate, at about 40 a game.
Overall, Umanmielen is an ascending rusher whose production and pass-rush craft are hard to ignore. He projects as a second-round edge rusher and a pass-down contributor from day one, with the ceiling of a three-down starter if the anchor arrives. Umanmielen left the Mississippi State game with a head injury after seven snaps. He was not on the following week's injury report and played at Auburn, where he added his ninth sack of the season. He also has 11 tackles for loss.
